SWEDISH TRANSLATION I translate text from Swedish to English. I accept translation projects in my areas of expertise - technology, geology and the environment. Most frequently, I work translating technology writing (computer, software, hardware, user documentation, websites). My services include translation into English, proofreading and editing. I relocated to Seattle from Scandinavia in 2001. I have worked for a variety of Scandinavian firms, and in 2007 I worked as a Swedish language specialist for Microsoft. I also work as a journalist and writer (writing in English), so you can be sure your translated text will be newspaper-, magazine- and user-ready for U.S. audiences. Translation is the science of combining the right words, meaning and style so your target audience gets the message. Let me be your Swedish-to-English expert. PUBLIC RELATIONS SERVICES As an PR professional and journalist, I can boost your U.S. sales by getting the word out. From technology product launches to music tours - I contact newspapers, magazines, organizations, online calendars, radio stations, television stations and special interest groups to publicize your product. I write press releases that generate media hits. Over the past 10 years, I've established media contacts up and down the U.S. West Coast. I'll get your information into the right hands and into the media. ABOUT ME I am a dual citizen of Finland and the U.S. and I speak fluent Swedish. (I am part of Finland's 6% Swedish-speaking minority.) I lived in Turku, Finland for four years while working on my master's degree. On the U.S. West Coast, I'm familiar with Scandinavian interest groups and can hone in on your target group. Of course, I work with non-Scandinavians too! JOURNALISM EXPERIENCE
I have worked as a freelance journalist and science writer in the U.S. for ten years. I am currently a contributing writer for the Reporter Newspapers, a newspaper publication with 500,000 readers in the Greater Seattle area. I have also written for the European Weekly Newspaper and the Peninsula Daily News.
I enjoy running, hiking, reading thrillers, gardening, playing ultimate frisbee and watching NOVA. Click here for a short bio that was published in the Seattle Freelances Newsletter (p.5). |
